About Registering – Read First:

The Basics: The first time you register here will build your initial profile so it will ask you basic questions about you, your contact info, and the type of membership you are wanting to register with. You can also include info about breeds you work and other breed clubs you are a member of, if applicable. As we upgrade and develop the site, your profile will also update to show the details you have submitted and you will be able to update info as you need.

How is your submitted info used:
1. Profile – Your internal profile is created.
2. Updates/info – When we have club or show info, or if there is a special opportunity to share, your contact info will let us reach out to you as a member.
3. Online Public Member List – We will use the info you choose to add you to the publicly available member list that is shared online. Only minimal info is shared for Individual, Family, and Junior Members. Farm Members can choose more extensive details but those details are chosen by the member.
4. Payments – Payment info is NOT saved here. Payments are processed through the PayPal platform so that it is protected through PayPal. Virginia Poultry Breeders does NOT save your payment info on this website.

Renewal – Annual renewal, first time registration online

1. Memberships valid Jan 1-Dec 31;.Expires annually 11:59pm on Dec 31.

2. If you choose to sign up for a single year, you will be responsible for renewing January 1 of each year or your membership will be inactive.

3. If you opt for a recurring membership, it will automatically be renewed January 1 each year and your fee will be charged to the account you choose and have authorized. Recurring membership can be cancelled at any time. The recurring payments do have an additional $5 set up fee the first year.

4. Junior Only Memberships will be charged $1 to help the club set up your account whether you choose a single year or recurring. To those who want to set up a recurring account for Junior only will also be charged the same $5 set up fee due to paypal.

5. Membership rates can change at anytime but will not change without email notification. Any changes are voted on by the board and should an increase occur they will not be charged without attempt of notification 15 days prior. Changes are most often voted on at the annual meeting that usually takes place in March.

6. Family membership is encouraged when there is a Junior Only, The adult/guardian does not have to participate in showing but this does ensure we have an adult contact on-file.

The Virginia Poultry Breeders Association membership includes a VPBA Public Members Directory that is included on the website.

Your membership will determine what details will be included. You can opt for the generic listing that will only include: First Initial, Last Name, State, NPIP number, if applicable. Or you can opt to choose some details more specifically in how they will be listed.

Your answers in the following sections will be used for the public membership list and the internal club use, only where it applies.

CHOOSE between the following options for how you would like to style your listing on the Online Public Members Directory:

DEFAULT– Generic listing: First Initial, Last Name, State. For example, this may be great for those who support the club but who may not breed or participate in showing -or- for those who simply do not want to include additional information.

ADVANCED – Chose slightly more specified details for your listing. For Family Membership, only the Primary Member will be listed. While this will not offer the same level of options and customization as a Farm Member listing, it will offer a slightly increased level of customization. (If you are wanting the most options, please adjust your membership to Farm Membership.)

Farm (ONLY available to Farm Memberships) – May opt to list with the Default or Advanced however Farm Members may include additional details and have additional format options. This is what allows your farm membership to provide the most advantage. (This will only display for those who register as a Farm Membership)

Farm Members will be listed with more of an advertisement format. You will have the option to include more extensive details with clickable links. Additional options – farm name, logo or photo (photo with approval), social media links, website links, breed(s), what you offer.

Please remember that Farm Membership is not a substitute for any sort of sponsorship to the club or show. It is a way to enhance the member’s listing and serve as a type of bonus advertising.
